How to prepare for your move to Finland
Whether you are moving to Finland to get closer to nature, for a new job opportunity or just because you’ve also wanted to experience life in the north, you will be delighted by the country. Set on the border between East and West, Finland is known for its ample green space, its large number of lakes (187,888 in total) and the love Finnish people have for the great outdoors.
When you’re moving to Finland, you’ll definitely be spending more time in nature, but let's not be too hasty there are a lot of things to deal with before your relocation. To avoid the cultural shock and the hurdles that most people moving abroad are faced with, get to know the local life, traditions and all other aspects of your new life well in advance. In the meantime, we will take care of moving your stuff to your new home.
What Documents you'll need
At European Moving we strive to make the moving process as smooth and easy as possible. So rest assured – we won’t ask you to complete piles of paperwork when you book a man with a van with us.
You are required to complete only two documents prior to your move to Finland – a contract and an inventory, that’s it. Remember that one of the most important things to deal with is to fill in and send us your inventory list 3- 5 days before collection. This way we can cast an eye over it to identify any possible issues for loading. Most importantly, you must print a copy of the inventory for yourself and the driver/s upon both collection and delivery.
What our clients
have to say about us
I have to say that we are very pleased with the service provided. Overall, all the process was smooth and easy. About the moving itself, we have to say that the driver was not only helpful with loading and unloading the truck but he also showed he really cared about our stuff and tried to ensure that everything arrived in perfect condition. Therefore we give a 10 of 10 for their service. Both for the process and the driver.Francesc Balcells
I had a great experience working with the team, Petar and Claire were very responsive up until and including move day. It is true that a subcontractor is used for pick up, loading and delivery, but what a workhorse Marius was! We had a very competitive quote, and it was clear that the service is only for moving the goods, packing, helping to load and insurance were done by ourselves. So you do need to be prepared! All in all a great experience moving from NL to the UK- all on schedule and intact.Anoniem
It is always a bit nerve wracking paying in advance for a service you only know through online recommendations, but we were really impressed at every stage with European Moving. Sarah at head office was great and sorted out our delivery and collection worries. Micheal the driver was really nice too - very helpful. The price was very competitive too. I would recommend.David Crosbie
